Our Easter Celebration

Playing marbles on the sunporch in her new sweet pink dress from Grammy and Grandpa

On the morning of Easter Sunday, Harry and I arose early so that we could be sure to make it to church on time (a rarity for our family these days!!!). We were dressed and ready, but Susannah was sleeping well past her normal 7:30 wake-up time. by 8:30, when she was still snoozing, we reluctantly but necessarily decided to wake her...only to have her begin to dry heave on the changing table while looking just as ashen and forlorn as one could ever look! Best-laid plans collide with REAL LIFE! She went straight back to her snuggly bed until 11:30, giving me (Lacey) time to walk over to our friend's nearby church to celebrate the risen Lord Jesus. Daddy sacrificially stayed home to listen for our sick Strawberry. Thankfully, when she awoke, she was feeling life her perky little self and had an appetite to match! This was GREAT NEWS, because Grammy and Grandpa were on their way to our house to celebrate Easter with us!

So lovely!

Loading jars of all sizes with glass stones and marbles is one of Susannah's favorite activities! Who needs "real" toys?!

Out to the backyard to play with the beach ball while we waited for Grammy and Grandpa to arrive

Blowing bubbles is the highlight of Susannah's existence...next to her newfound love for chocolate :)

"Blow bubbles self, please Daddy!"

Mommy's turn to try!

And now Daddy's turn to delight our girl with "many many bubbles!"

While we waited for dinner to come out of the oven, we took a walk around the block. Susannah was eager to hold the hand of her beloved Grandpa while walking down our steep Guilford Avenue hill.

After dinner, Grammy and Grandpa gave Susannah a basket filled with MANY goodies! Chocolate, chocolate, and MORE CHOCOLATE! Though Susannah scarcely ate any dinner besides some fresh strawberries, she sure was "hungry" when it came time to sample all of her basket contents.

Yummy, chewy marshmallow bunny

Grandpa was the lucky one chosen (imagine that!) to dispense pieces of "girly" tape Grammy put into the basket. This tape has been a big hit since she received it, as well!

Grammy gave Mommy a big scrapbook for some of Susannah's first year pictures. Good thing I'm slow at picture organization, because this means there are plenty of year-old pictures to be decoratively stashed inside this beautiful album!

Sifting through the big bag to see what else is inside!

A CAN OF PUMPKIN!!!!! HOORAY! Grammy happened to have this stashed away at her house and brought it for Susannah, who since November has requested Pumpkin Oatmeal first thing in the morning almost every morning! Unfortunately, there has been a shortage of pumpkin, so most stores have been out or have had very, very little. When I see it (and, yes, I am "that" mama who will go to several stores to look for it because it is THAT important to us!), I always stock up! After a few weeks without her breakfast of choice, Susannah was beyond delighted to receive this can and use some of it the very next morning!

CHOCOLATE BUNNY!!!!
(Now imagine the urgency) "Please, please, PLEASE eat it chocolate bunny!"

What yummy ears you have, chocolate bunny!

HOLLYWOOD!!!!

Pretty angel...

Snuggling on Grandpa's lap listening to Poofy Loves Company, my favorite book when I was a little girl...and now Susannah's favorite, too! :)

What a BEAUTIFUL day we had rejoicing in the family God has so graciously given to us! Thank you, Jesus, for dying and RISING AGAIN so that we may have eternal life in You!
